Oliver Koos was elected to the board of Construction and Real Estate Law Working Group of the German Bar Association

Oliver Koos, lawyer and partner at GSK Stockmann, was elected to the Executive Committee at the 57th Construction Law Conference on 6 March by the general meeting of the Construction and Real Estate Law Working Group (ARGE Baurecht) of the German Bar Association (DAV). In the future, he will chair the Task Force on International Construction Law.

Regarding his election, Oliver Koos stated: “I am excited to continue to develop ARGE’s range of training, information and experience exchange over the next years together with the board in the well-proven manner. In doing so, we will especially take into account the increasing demands of digitalisation.”

The Executive Committee is responsible for the business and publicly represents the Construction Law Working Group. It runs conferences on construction law in spring and autumn and supports junior lawyers through the Junior Construction Lawyers’ Working Group and the junior lawyers’ award “Summa cum Bau”.

Oliver Koos replaces Peter Sohn, who is retiring, and will chair the Task Force on International Construction Law. This was previously the responsibility of Christian Meier, who is now taking over other areas of activity within the Executive Committee. In addition to Christian Meier and Oliver Koos, the committee of ten includes the following long-standing members: Birgit Franz as the newly elected chair, Claus Schmitz as the newly elected deputy chair, as well as Ulrich Böttger, Kathrin Heerdt, Ralf Schweigerer, Frank Siegburg, Petra Sterner and Swen Walentowski.
