GSK Stockmann + Kollegen appoints six partners and two counsels in the areas of real estate and corporate

At the partner conference on November 25, 2016, GSK Stockmann + Kollegen appointed six lawyers from its own ranks to partnership. In total, two Equity Partners, four Local Partners and two Counsels will be incorporated on 1st January, 2017. With these partner and counsel appointments, GSK further strengthens its focus on practice areas and sectors.

The partnership of GSK Stockmann + Kollegen has decided to incorporate Local Partners Stefan Schlapka (Real Estate / Hotel & Leisure, Munich), and Dennis Stenzel (Real Estate / Funds, Hamburg) as equity partners. At the same time, Associates Dr. Philip Huperz (Real Estate, Berlin), Volker Hofstetter and Olaf Jacobsen (both Real Estate, Frankfurt/M.) and Dr. Raoul Kreide (Corporate / Restructuring & Insolvency, Heidelberg) were appointed as Local Partners. The Counsel status was awarded to Dr. Gerhard Gündel (Corporate / M&A, Frankfurt/M.) and Dr. Jochen Rudolph (Projects & Public Sector, Frankfurt/M.).
„We cordially welcome all new Partners and Counsels and congratulate our colleagues on their outstanding personal and entrepreneurial development. We are very pleased that once again we were able to appoint colleagues from our own ranks to Local and Equity Partnership and as Counsel and that GSK continues to grow by themselves“, says Dr. Oliver Glück, Co-Managing Partner at GSK Stockmann + Kollegen.

Stefan J. Schlapka has been an asset for the GSK Real Estate team in Munich since 2012 and became Local Partner in 2014. After several years as an inhouse counsel and head of the legal department in the German headquarters of the largest European hotel group, he worked alongside GSK Partner Dr. Bernhard Laas to establish the sector group Hotels & Leisure at GSK as a well-known entity in the hotel market. He concentrates on hotel operator contracts, in particular hotel rental agreements, franchise, management and hybrid contracts. On the real estate side he focuses on transactions as well as commercial rental and leasing law.

With the appointment of Dennis Stenzel as Real Estate Partner, the firm is further strengthening the consulting segment at the interface between real estate and fund-related investment law. This type of advice is highly sought after at our Hamburg office, which GSK wants to use to grow further in the real estate investment funds & asset management segment. Dennis Stenzel has been with GSK for ten years (he was appointed as a Counsel in 2013 and became Local Partner in 2016). In early 2016, Dennis Stenzel moved from Frankfurt to the Hamburg GSK office, where he was given responsibility for the expansion of the fund-related and supervisory real estate transactions and cross-practice transaction mandates alongside the team of GSK Partner Dr. Michael Jani.

In the real estate practice area, the new Local Partners Dr. Philip Huperz, Volker Hofstetter and Olaf Jacobsen are primarily responsible for successful real estate transactions. „All three new Local Partners are experienced real estate lawyers, but each with a different sector focus within the real market“, explains Dr. Dirk Brückner, Head of the Real Estate practice group at GSK Stockmann + Kollegen. „Dr. Huperz has a focus on real estate transactions in the healthcare sector, Volker Hofstetter in the residential sector and Olaf Jacobsen focuses on regulated real estate investors. It is this ability to focus on particular segments of the market that allows us to further penetrate the real estate market.”

Dr. Raoul Kreide has been appointed Local Partner in the corporate practice area. Dr. Kreide is a lawyer, a graduate in business administration (BA) and a trained mediator. He advises medium-sized companies, entrepreneurs and family offices, in particular on restructuring and corporate financing as well as on tax-optimized structuring, and in the area of corporate and asset succession.

The partnership of GSK Stockmann + Kollegen has also awarded the Counsel status to Dr. Gerhard Gündel (specialist for corporate / M&A, real estate share deals and compliance) and to Dr. Jochen Rudolph (specialist in construction and litigation). Both contribute to the growth of the law firm with highly specialised work and legal expertise, as well as their commitment to promote internal projects. Both are recognised experts, whose know-how is highly valued across offices and practice areas.
