GSK Stockmann + Kollegen advises Jones Lang LaSalle on the acquisition of Zabel Property AG

With the support of GSK Stockmann + Kollegen, Berlin-based residential property specialist Zabel Property will be part of the network of the leading real estate consulting Jones Lang LaSalle (JLL). The takeover is subject to approval by the Federal Cartel Office. Silence has been agreed on the purchase price.

Zabel Property is specialized in the distribution of high-quality properties to international and national buyers in Germany's metropolises. With more than 25 years of history and 45 employees, the company is leader in this segment. In addition, Zabel Property advises property developers on the conception, marketing and sale of their projects and, if necessary, assumes the complete project management. With 270 apartments sold to buyers from 28 nations, the company achieved a transaction volume of around 118 million euros in the financial year of 2015. Berlin as head quarter and main target of international residential real estate investors is the most important location. But also in Frankfurt am Main, Zabel Property is excellently positioned, among other things, with the "Grand Tower" project as the highest residential building in Germany.

A supra-regional GSK lawyer team under the leadership of the M&A-partners Max Wilmanns and Dr. Andreas Peters advised JLL comprehensively on the acquisition of Zabel Property AG. The JLL Group has been advised for many years by the real estate team of the Hamburg-based GSK partner Lars Bollensen, who has established the contact between the corporate practice and JLL Chief Justice Dr. Ingo Seidner.

The completion of the takeover by the market leader JLL, which is planned for Jan-uary 2017, represents an excellent addition to the real estate services of both companies. Originally specialist for commercial real estate, JLL Deutschland is expanding its residential real estate segment in selected, future-oriented business areas as part of its growth strategy and is now entering the distribution of owner-occupied apartments. In the future, consulting and sales of residential real estate projects can be depicted across the entire value chain, from property to individual sales of the apartments, thus developers and inventors will be able to offer all services from a single source. All employees of Zabel Property AG are taken over by JLL.
