GSK Stockmann appoints four new Partners from its own ranks

At the Partners’ Meeting at the End of November, GSK Stockmann appointed four of its lawyers to partnership. In total, two Equity Partners and two Local Partners are joining the Partners as of January 1st, 2019. These appointments are resolutely in line with GSK’s aspiration to promote the recruitment of new Partners from its own ranks and to advance the specialization in its Sectors and Competences.

The GSK Stockmann Partners decided to add Dr. Jenny Mehlitz (Projects & Public Sector, Procurement, Berlin) and Andreas Dimmling (Restructuring/Insolvency, Corporate/M&A, Munich) as Equity Partners to the group of Partners. Furthermore, the Associates Dr. Jens Uwe Rügenhagen (Corporate/M&A, Dispute Resolution, Heidelberg) and Dr. Antonius Jonetzki (Dispute Resolution, Hamburg) were ap-pointed as Local Partners.

Especially the Sectors Public and Healthcare are going to benefit from Jenny Mehlitz’s expertise in procurement law. The two new Local Partners Antonius Jonetzki and Jens Uwe Rügenhagen are already applying their specialized knowledge in the fields of dispute resolution and corporate/M&A respectively to the Financial Services, Funds and Capital Markets Sectors and are going to systematically expand the sector-specific know-how. Finally, the firm’s corporate practice will benefit from Andreas Dimmling’s particular insolvency law and restructuring expertise which is relevant for many of the firm’s Sectors, especially Funds, Automotive/Mobility and Real Estate.

“Congratulations to all candidates on your next career step. We wish our colleagues the best of success! Appointing these new Partners underlines our goal of sustainably and strategically expanding our Sectors- and Competences-based advisory practice with our own young talents”, said Dr. Uwe Jäger, co-Managing Partner at GSK Stockmann, to comment on this decision.

Dr. Jenny Mehlitz studied law at Humboldt University Berlin and at Utrecht University. She was admitted to the Bar in 2008 and specializes in both procurement and building and architect law. Jenny Mehlitz has been a specialist in procurement law for many years and advises clients on awarding any construction, supply or services contracts. She has particular know-how in the Public Sector as well as in Healthcare and specializes in innovation partnerships and competitive dialogues, in-house awarding, PPPs, general contractor awarding as well as in supporting and representing clients in lawsuits or review procedures before Procurement Chambers and civil courts. Her clients are from the public as well as private enterprises.

Andreas Dimmling is a lawyer and holds a degree in Business Law (Bayreuth University) and has been with GSK Stockmann since 2006. He started out as a research assistant at the Berlin office and became a lawyer at GSK in 2008, working for the Berlin and Heidelberg offices. Since 2011, Andreas Dimmling has been taking care of international clients and moved to the Munich office. His focus areas are, among others, corporate, insolvency and restructuring law, which are in high demand in the Funds Sector and others. Mr. Dimmling was one of the initiators of the Munich and Frankfurt restructuring forums whose biannual events have become an integral part of the restructuring industry.

Dr. Jens Uwe Rügenhagen studied and earned his PhD at the University of Freiburg and was admitted to the Bar in 2012. He started working at GSK Stockmann’s Heidelberg office that same year. Jens Uwe Rügenhagen advises clients on corporate/M&A law and on conducting corporate lawsuits. At the beginning of 2018, he worked at the Luxembourg office for several months in the area of Funds. Working with clients like MLP, Jens Uwe Rügenhagen already has special industry know-how in the Financial Services Sector which the firm wants to strategically expand further along with the Capital Markets Sector.

Dr. Antonius Jonetzki was admitted to the Bar in 2010 and came to GSK Stock-mann’s Hamburg office in 2014 together with Hamburg Partner Dr. Justus Jansen. Antonius Jonetzki earned his degrees and a PhD at Hamburg University. He is advising clients on international trade issues, in the energy sector and is active in national and international arbitration proceedings. Antonius Jonetzki has special expertise in conducting lawsuits in the Financial Services and Capital Markets Sectors; and these are also the areas which Antonius Jonetzki is going to enhance and deepen within the firm’s advisory practice.

“We wish the new Partners a successful time with GSK Stockmann for 2019 as well, and we are looking forward to continuing working so well together”, said Dr. Oliver Glück, co-Managing Partner at GSK Stockmann to congratulate the new Partners.
