GSK Stockmann advises Hines on acquisition of logistics space in Hamm

GSK Stockmann offered the international real estate company Hines comprehensive legal advice on the acquisition of two properties in Hamm (North-Rhine Westphalia) for a logistics development project.

On the total area of 115,400 m2 acquired as part of an off-market deal, Hines is planning to build a logistics complex of up to 68,000 m2 of halls and office space. Construction is planned to begin before the end of the year.

Hines is a private and globally active real estate investment company founded in 1957. Having acquired a logistics complex in Maintal (Hesse) in March, this purchase of the two properties in Hamm-Uentrop continues Hines’ investment strategy in the logistics real estate segment.

As either an asset or development manager, Hines is currently managing real estate valued at around 3.3 billion euros total. In the coming 18 to 24 months, Hines wants to invest up to 400 million euros in equity in small to medium-sized logistics properties. Since Hines Germany was founded in 1991, the company has acquired or developed a total of 36 properties with a total area of almost 1.6 million m2, including landmarks such as the “Maintower” and “Silberturm” in Frankfurt, the “Sony Center” in Berlin, the “Hofstatt”, “Uptown Munich” and the “OSKAR” in Munich as well as the “Benrather Karree” and “Kö-Quartier” in Düsseldorf.

GSK Stockmann comprehensively advised Hines on due diligence as well as on drafting and negotiating the purchase agreement.
