GSK expands to Luxembourg

Dr. Marcus Peter

Andreas Heinzmann

Dr. Philipp Mößner

With the opening of a new office in Luxembourg, GSK Stockmann + Kollegen takes another key step in expanding its business activities. In March 2016 GSK starts operations in Luxembourg with the three Equity Partners Dr. Marcus Peter, Andreas Heinzmann and Dr. Philipp Mößner who will be joined by a team of associates.

The new partners, who have to date been working in a renowned independent Luxembourg law firm, cover the legal areas of investment funds, private equity, corporate, real estate, capital markets (equity capital markets and debt capital markets including securitisation) as well as supervisory and tax. Thus the team offers legal advice on all essential growth segments on the Luxembourg market, opening up opportunities for GSK as well as for its alliance partners of the Broadlaw Group to offer clients advice from a single source on cross-border projects such as e.g. the structuring of funds, transactions or the launching of capital market products. With the new Luxembourg office GSK continues its path of sustainable growth based on its already strong footprint in the real estate and financial markets. In addition, banking partner Dr. Timo Patrick Bernau will be working in the Luxembourg office to maximize synergy effects.

Dr. Marcus Peter (40) has been a lawyer in Luxembourg since 2004 and became a partner in 2012 focusing on investment funds, private equity, corporate and real estate law. In 2015 Legal 500 and Chambers recognised Marcus Peter in the areas of investment funds and real estate law.

Andreas Heinzmann (39) has been a lawyer in Luxembourg since 2006 and became a partner in 2013 focusing on international banking and capital markets including securitisation and supervisory law. In 2015 Andreas Heinzmann was recognised by Legal 500 and Chambers as specialist in the fields of banking & finance as well as capital markets.

Dr. Philipp Mößner (41) completes the team with his expertise in international banking & capital market law and his focus on listed companies, transactional real estate as well as corporate law. He has been a lawyer in Luxembourg since 2007 and became a partner in 2013. Legal 500 mentions Dr. Mößner as an experienced specialist.

Dr. Oliver Glück, Co-Managing Partner of GSK Stockmann + Kollegen, comments: „The expansion to Luxembourg, which is one of the leading financial centres globally, is a major step in our growth strategy. The arrival of this experienced team enables us to offer an enhanced service portfolio to our clients, ranging from Private Equity, Banking & Financial Markets to Real Estate and Corporate Law.

Dr. Olaf Schmechel, also Co-Managing Partner at GSK Stockmann + Kollegen adds: „Especially for the fast-growing numbers of international advisory mandates with a focus on Luxembourg fund structures the new office offers a valuable addition to our legal services. We are therefore very happy to have the team joining us.”

On behalf of the new Team Dr. Marcus Peter says: „The Luxembourg Team is really looking forward to working with the colleagues and the clients of GSK. Luxembourg is a constantly expanding international financial centre creating a demanding and diversified consulting market. The quality and the innovative ways in which GSK operates make it a perfect fit. Let’s get started!”

The new office of GSK Stockmann + Kollegen will be situated centrally at Luxembourg’s new financial district Kirchberg.

With its new office in Luxembourg and as a member of Broadlaw Group, GSK now offers its clients access to a network of more than 1,000 lawyers based in 28 of the most important financial and economic centres of Europe, Asia, the Middle East and North Africa.
