GSK at the Chinese Enterprises’ Global Strategy in the Industry 4.0-Era International Forum

GSK at the “Chinese Enterprises’ Global Strategy in the Industry 4.0 Era International Forum”

Early November lawyers from GSK in Germany and Luxembourg participated in the seminar “Chinese Enterprises’ Global Strategy in the Industry 4.0 Era (Made in China 2025) International Forum” in Shanghai and were honored to be one of the sponsors of this seminar. The seminar was organised by the Shanghai Development Research Center of Economy and Information as well as by the Dealglobe
(a commercial deal platform).

The GSK Luxembourg partners Andreas Heinzmann and Dr. Marcus Peter have participated in the panel discussions by each giving a speech respectively. They gave insights in investments in Luxembourg and Europe, in particular focused on the advantages of Luxembourg tax structure for Chinese investors in Europe. Barbara Scharrer, Weirong Zhang (both from GSK Munich office) and Yi Wang (from GSK Luxembourg office) have also attended the seminar.

More than 300 Chinese and foreign governmental officials, experts, scholars, insiders and entrepreneurs attended this seminar in Shanghai to join discussions and exchange views. Since the German term “Industry 4.0” is regarded as the “role model” for the Chinese concept “Made in China 2025”, the recently completed “KUKA-Midea” deal received a tremendous attention from all attendees and signaled the trend towards more foreign investments from China to Europe, in particular to Germany. GSK, an international oriented law firm originating in Germany, has recognised the increasing market opportunities and has been working for a long time now on its China and Asian strategies in order to fulfill the increasing needs of its international clients, especially from China. This Shanghai trip shows once again GSK’s ability to constantly adapting to the needs of the ever-changing market.
