New data access rights in the digital age

The European Commission has proposed a new “Data Act” to give users access to the data generated by their networked devices, which is often collected and held exclusively by manufacturers. Users can then also share this data with third parties who can then offer them other innovative data-driven services. The new legislation should also make it easier to switch effectively between different cloud providers.

In this GSK Update, we provide a summary of the draft Data Act and a brief outlook of what you can expect.
