CONFLICTS OF INTEREST
Under German law, lawyers are prohibited from acting where a conflict of interests exists (section 43a para 4 of the Federal Lawyers’ Act, BRAO). We therefore ensure a full conflicts of interest check is complete before we accept a new engagement for a client.
OUT-OF-COURT DISPUTE RESOLUTION
Disputes between lawyers and their clients can be settled out of court by applying to the regional bar association (Rechtsanwaltskammer) (pursuant to section 73 para 2 no. 3 and section 73 para 5 of the Federal Lawyers’ Act (BRAO) or to the Federal Conciliation Body (Schlichtungsstelle der Rechtsanwaltschaft) of the Federal Bar Association (section 191f BRAO), Neue Grünstr. 17, 10179 Berlin.
