Juve ranking 2022: GSK Stockmann once again one of Germany’s top corporate law firms

GSK Stockmann has once again been listed among the top 50 law firms in Germany in the overall ranking published by the Juve Handbook of Corporate Law Firms in 2022/2023 and has also achieved strong ratings in all legal fields relevant to the firm. The firm has been recognised in a total of 17 different legal fields in the most recent list of rankings.

In its description of the firm’s development, Juve in particular highlighted the firm’s activities in relation to process digitalisation, pointing out that, for a law firm of its size, GSK Stockmann is very active in this area and is already ahead of many of its competitors in marketing its own contract tool.

In opening a new office in London this year, GSK Stockmann is also positioning itself closer to international clients and potential partner firms in other European countries, thus strengthening its international standing.

Top ratings in the firm’s core sectors

In the areas of real estate and building law – especially in project development and plant engineering – Juve has reaffirmed the firm’s outstanding results from the previous year. According to the ranking, GSK Stockmann’s skilled staff and broad range of advisory services in the area of real estate law have made the firm highly successful at acquiring new clients. Partnering with the Luxembourg office particularly pays off and also opens up additional business areas, for example in the case of transactions involving alternative financing. The firm has also placed a special focus on sustainability, both as an area of advice for clients and as an internal guiding principle. According to Juve, this is proof of the firm’s future viability.

The firm’s advisory services in the areas of investment funds and asset management once again achieved strong rankings. Financial service providers and finance-related business are increasingly becoming the drivers of the firm’s overall development. According to the Juve Handbook, this is largely due to the firm’s extensive experience working with real estate funds, capital investment companies and fund structures, complemented by broadly anchored ESG advice. The close cooperation between the firm’s supervisory and tax law teams on complex legal matters remains one of GSK Stockmann’s key strengths.

Shooting stars: administrative law and restructuring

GSK Stockmann was also ranked for the first time this year for its administrative and constitutional law advice. The firm also made its first appearance in the rankings for insolvencies and restructurings, an area which has become even more of a focus with the opening of the London office. The firm has thus successfully expanded its advisory expertise to cover new competencies and sectors related to the firm’s core business areas.

GSK Stockmann was also able to repeat its excellent ranking from the previous year in the areas of corporate law, M&A and public law. The venture capital practice in Berlin also received a special mention.

  • Employment Law
