GSK Stockmann has provided legal advice to MP Musikhandel GmbH & Co KG, a company of the Session Group from Walldorf, on the acquisition of the operational business of Musik Produktiv GmbH & Co KG in Ibbenbüren (North Rhine-Westphalia). The seller is the private equity company PartnerFonds AG from Munich.
Established more than 45 years ago and with more than 70 employees, Musik Produktiv is a leading specialist music retailer, active in both conventional shops and in the growing online and mail order business nationwide.
With its brick-and-mortar stores as well as its constantly growing online shops, Session Group is one of the largest companies in the music retail sector in Germany.
GSK Stockmann and a team led by Markus Söhnchen advised the buyer on all legal issues relevant to M&A. GSK Stockmann’s M&A team has regularly been involved in various transactions in the retail and online trade sector in the past and therefore has extensive retail expertise.
