GSK Stockmann advises R&S Immobilienmanagement GmbH on the development and leasing of iCampus in Munich’s Werksviertel

GSK Stockmann has comprehensively provided legal advice to R&S Immobilienmanagement GmbH, part of the Rohde & Schwarz group, on securing building rights, the energy concept and the office space leasing to consulting firm WTS Group AG on Munich’s “iCampus”.

“iCampus”, an innovative work-life quarter, is currently being built in Munich’s Werksviertel at Ostbahnhof, the city’s east station. R&S Immobilienmanagement GmbH is developing and leasing the site. On approximately 50,000 sqm area and in a total of seven buildings, around 110,000 sqm of modern commercial space with high standards of design and functionality are being raised.

The area leased to WTS Group AG is located in the Rhenania Villa and Rhenania Neubau properties, at Friedenstrasse 22, which were designed by the Munich architectural offices Henn and Landau & Kindelbacher. Flexible loft offices and open-plan office space are being built there on approx. 10,500 sqm. The move into the offices is planned for the third quarter of 2022.

GSK Stockmann’s team led by Stefan J. Schlapka, Dr. Mark Butt and Kerstin von Staa has comprehensively provided legal advice to R&S Immobilienmanagement GmbH on the “Werksviertel” development plan including reallocation procedures, the subsequent building permit procedures for iCampus and the office space leasing to WTS Group AG. The iCampus district development has an independent, innovative energy concept with a central cooling supply. On this point, the GSK Stockmann Energy team led by Dr. Stefan Geiger has advised on the regulatory law as well as on how to structure and implement the contracting.
