GSK Stockmann advises joint venture of ABG Real Estate Group and HanseMerkur Grundvermögen on acquisition of Deutsche Bank’s main branch

GSK Stockmann advised a joint venture consisting of ABG Real Estate Group and HanseMerkur Grundvermögen AG on the purchase of Deutsche Bank’s main branch, a listed building located in Frankfurt’s Rossmarkt.

The property was built in 1904 and has been extended and refurbished multiple times over the years. It has six above-ground floors with a total rental space of 13,600 sqm. Deutsche Bank, which has been using the building for 90 years and also had its headquarters there for a number of years, will remain the tenant. The seller is a fund owned by PGIM Real Estate.

GSK Stockmann provided advice on the entire transaction with a team led by partner Dirk Brückner, who supported the buyers through every stage from due diligence and purchase agreement negotiations to notarisation.
