GSK Stockmann advises Competo on Port One Berlin

GSK Stockmann provided comprehensive advice to Munich-based Competo Capital Partners GmbH on the Port One Berlin real estate project in the German capital’s Europacity development.

Competo Capital Partners is an owner-operated and independent investment and asset management specialist focused on custom-tailored investments in German real estate with current total managed investment capital of almost four billion euros.

As the lead investor in Port One Berlin, the Optima-Aegidius Group has brought in Competo as a long-term partner in a junior investment as part of the project from November 2022.

Flexible space for offices, bars and restaurants, and artists’ studios is currently being built on the 32,000 sqm urban office and commercial area located on Friedrich-Krause-Ufer. Sustainability has been a top priority for the project. The plans include around 2,300 sqm of roof terraces with rooftop gardens as well as 41,000 sqm of open space with a forest biotope. The project partners are aiming to have the property certified by the German Sustainable Building Council (DGNB). The property is conveniently located near Berlin’s central railway station and the Ringbahn, one of the main lines in the city’s S-Bahn network.

With a team led by Munich-based real estate partner Dirk Brückner, GSK Stockmann provided comprehensive advice to Competo on the investment. The firm’s advice related in particular to the share purchase agreement and joint venture agreement including tax law and real estate due diligence.
